Practus Corporate Website (via Lionfish)

SHORTCUT

If you are busy with multiple portfolio reviews, then let's not waste any of your precious time. Skip the background story and jump straight into the details of the assignment -- starting with the company background.

Practus is a national, remote, decentralized law firm comprised of a long roster of elite lawyers from all over the United States. They specialize in a wide range of legal services, from simple contract law and incorporation to stock listings, mergers, acquisitions, and natural resource law. I worked with them in maintaining their legacy WordPress website, as well as taking part in the design of their new corporate website and the redesign of their corporate intranet alongside the team at The Lionfish Co.

Both of the websites that Practus uses are powered by WordPress, which made their management and re-design fairly easy to implement. Initially, the legacy version of the Practus site was powered by the Cornerstone page builder. But due to the disappointing limitations and unintuitive user interface of Cornerstone, updating the Practus website provided an opportunity to update our tools. For such reasons, the newer version of the Practus site is powered by Elementor, and overall, was much easier to put up than anything we ever did in Cornerstone.

In the end, while some people may not like the idea of designers using page builders to do corporate work, the reality is that with the right tools and a clear design process, page builders can quite easily scale up to enterprise applications.
