For a long time, I have felt photography that is supposed to showcase professions, or headshots, was almost not interesting enough. This photo shoot was intended to be for a series of headshots on behalf of Jacqueline Brett, minister at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist church. However, I wanted to do something with a twist: Though I took the time to deliver a series of headshots for professional use in her ministerial duties, I also wanted to provide a series of shots that can also be used for a personal sentiment.
I think that sometimes when we spend hours in a profession, we forget to capture the moments when major things happen in our lives. For Jacqueline Brett, this series of images was taken shortly before she was announced as the lead minister at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Church. While not every one of these images can say, be used as a LinkedIn profile picture, I wanted to provide a variety of images–from some that could be used on LinkedIn and professional documents, to others that can be showcased as framed images within one’s office or home. In the end, Jacqueline was very pleased with the images, and I think in the process I may have discovered a new format for taking headshots that some professionals may wish to engage with.
